Jake & Joces 13,000km Adventure

Hey you lovely people,
Its been a mix of radio silence and awesome adventures from us as we've made the 13,000km roadtrip back to Perth. With more stunning views than I can count I thought I'd give you an update and show you the 7 awesome parks we visited on the way home!
As you can tell we started off BIG!
We actually weren't planning on going to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, but after ending up two days ahead of schedule as we entered the NT we thought WHY NOT! We chose to get up to watch the sunrise the day after we arrived and my goodness did we witness something special... As if Uluru wasn't special enough we got to experience what might be one of the best sunrises I have ever seen.Another super iconic Aussie National Park, an awesome spot I really wish we'd had more of an opportunity to explore. With the limited time we had, we popped into Simpsons Gap to check it out and pop the sticker on our bottle! It's absolutely one of those place we will be putting on our list to come back to!Located just outside of Katherine, Nitmiluk National park is a playground of hiking, swimming and of course epic views. We spent two days exploring this park checking out the stunning Edith falls, Katherine Gorge and my personal favourite, hiking out to the Southern Rockhole. We got up at sunrise to make the most of the slightly cooler weather, hiked roughly 5km out and had a well deserved swim in this EPIC Rockhole! One of the few places we swam in the NT where I didn't feel we'd get munched by a Croc.Kakadu was one of those parks I'd heard a lot about especially from our research making the bottle but was unfortunately a little let down by our experience. Of course this was mainly down to visiting during the start of the wet season and a lot of road closures too. Thankfully we still had one spot we could check out being Motor Car Falls. It was a stinking hot day as we hiked out to the falls and the march flies were absolute savages but that still didn't take away from this awe-inspiring set of falls. We weren't quite sure how safe it was going to be to swim but it was way too hot to not be swimming so we jumped into the creek where we could see a bit clearer. Probably another spot i'd love to come back to in the dry season to really experience this National Park.If Joce and I had to pick a favourite National Park in the Northern Territory for exploring, Litchfield National Park would probably be the one. Its location close to Darwin makes it a really accessible location and has the coolest swimming holes we've seen on our whole trip. We spent our time around Wangi falls exploring and in true form also put our stickers on our bottles. Our fifth sticker from this trip! What made it so good from our perspective was the crystal clear swimming holes all throughout Buley Rockhole. I think half our time in Litchfield was just us lazing around swimming there.
A little different from our adventure's into the parks of the Northern Territory we chose splurge a little and a take a scenic flight over the very iconic Bungle Bungles in Purnululu National Park. Closed during this time of year Purnululu is the last National Park from Western Australia I needed to tick off and the flight was the only way to make that happen! I have had a lot of awe and wonder for the places we have explored over this trip but none quite like the view of flying over this breathtaking National Park. Every direction you look is another landscape I could stare at for hours. The rugged rocky mounds creating the iconic Bungle Bungles along with the deep and winding gorges gave me goosebumps as we flew over them. Both Joce and I absolutely loved this park and is another one I will be for sure coming back to in the dry season.
Our final park to stop past on our way home started with a 14 hour day driving in 42 degree heat with basically no aircon. Yep it sucked. We rocked up at our beachside camp and ran straight to the ocean to cool off as the sun set out on the horizon. The next day we headed out for sunrise to take in the beautiful Turquoise Bay and watched the reef sharks swim around the sandbar. Some of the snorkelling here is just next level. We were out at Oyster Stacks and had some of the best visibility iv'e ever seen! A perfect way to finish our trip home as we drive to Perth the next day.
After so many awesome adventures its really awesome to finally be back home here in Perth. We have some many epic things coming up as our focus turns back to Endless park and this awesome community. Keep getting out there exploring our beautiful parks and can't wait to see your Endless Adventures!

Happy Adventuring,

Jake & Joce
